Have done this a couple of times and both times were awesome! The crew is wonderful!

My husband and son did the half day kayak yesterday and they loved it. There were dolphins flipping all around them, so close you could almost touch them. Every body was very nice and knowledgeable and helpful. They will definitely do this again.

My group of 7 rented kayaks for a half day at a reasonable price and paddled out to the bay, although one could go up Shem Creek instead. Paddling was easy enough, although there is enough wave action in the bay to make the going a bit rough and wet. Nice view of downtown Charleston and a small island bird sanctuary that pelicans raise there brood on. Could see dolphins, although they were a no show on our morning outing. Container ships and a navy vessel passed by at a distance, although the wake could still be felt. A bit more tame was a paddle down a secondary creek through the marsh closer to the outlet of Shem creek with smooth water and shorebirds. Young folks manned the operation and were not overly enthusiastic or helpful, but adequate. They also offer guided trips with a naturalist that came recommended. It was a beautiful day, although they are flexible if you reserve and the weather turns ugly.

It was the first time Kayaking and it was a great experience, got to see dolphins up close.

DO NOT COME AND RENT AT THIS PLACE!!!!!! This establishment does not abide by their hours of operation. They close early at their discretion whether you call beforehand or not. The manager, Elizabeth will gaslight you into believing that you are the reason why her employees needed to leave early if you do not show up at your non reserved time. Either reserve a spot with this rental place or don’t waste your time because they want to go home. Spend your vacation money elsewhere because Elizabeth is rude and condescending anyway.

We had a great time paddling our kayaks out into the bay, and up Shem Creek. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The boats & equipment all worked well, and this is such a beautiful spot.

We rented kayaks for 4 hours/half day and had a great time! We saw several dolphins and it was very relaxing to just sit and watch the boats and the waves. It was super easy to make a reservation and we had no problems getting our kayaks or any issues on the water. Definitely recommend Nature Adventures if you are looking to kayak on Shem Creek!

This is our second time kayaking with Nature Adventures and I can’t say enough good things about this crew! Every one of the guys are so friendly, knowledgeable, & helpful. They explain things clearly & are entertaining while going through the safety briefing. The equipment is in good shape, the seats are comfortable, and they provide maps for clear instructions while you are out. They even provide a little “bingo” card for the younger kids to spot the local wildlife! Such a fun way to gain some knowledge while having fun! It is an affordable activity to do in the area. We 100% plan on returning to N.A. the next time we are in Charleston. To all the guys at N.A. - thank you for your hard work & making our experience so great!

We had a great time kayaking with Nature Adventures! It was a beautiful day so there was a lot of boating activity on the creek but we were still able to see a dolphin so that was really cool! We would absolutely do this again if we come back to Charleston!

Such a fun afternoon and a bonus arm workout. We had dolphins jumping right next to us and a good view from the water of boats and houses.

Great way to explore Shem Creek. We saw dolphins, pelicans and other birds and enjoyed going through the tributaries into the marsh.

We decided to go kayaking and the staff were very informative and very kind. I truly had an amazing experience . While Kayaking we were able to see a few Dolphins which was beautiful. I highly recommend getting there early.

I’m a local and use this company on a regular basis for birthdays and Mother’s Day. They’ve always been extremely efficient and knowledgeable. I’ll recommend nature’s adventures to literally anyone who’s interested, beginner or expert. They’ll guide you around if you’re into that or give you a kayak and send you into the creek with a map to meander as you please.
