Kayak Tour Reviews

We took our 12 year old niece on a 2 hour kayak tour and thoroughly enjoyed it. Our guide Craig was very engaging and taught us more about the marsh environment than we could imagine (we knew 10 minutes into the trip that he had to be a high school teacher). The trip is suitable for most ages and the paddling was easy to moderate. Shem Creek can get very crowded by midday, so book an early trip to avoid the power boats.

Our guide Ryan was knowledgable about boats and the flora and fauna in the area. He also had good histories of the area. Very fun.

I arranged for my Board of Directors to participate in a kayaking teambuilding event. I have heard excellent feedback from them. Working with the team at Nature Adventures to set it all up was amazing. When I spoke with Ben, the facilitator, he knew exactly what our goal was and it was accomplished! I'm only sorry I wasn't able to join them.

The crew at NA was super helpful and made our experience really good. The intro to kayaking was quick and informative. We did double kayaks and are fairly fit people. We paid for 3 hours but probably only needed 2 hours. We saw dolphins several times and had a great time! We highly recommend the kayaks for a good time.

We went with Ed as a guide kayaking on Shem Creek and would recommend this to everyone!! Ed was knowledgable about the sea life and the history of the region. He took us at a good pace around the creek and to the pelican island--we saw loads of birds, fish and dolphins.

Matt is the best! He is knowledgeable and attentive to make sure our safety all the time. He teaches me how to paddle the right way, but he also gives me time and space to grow (so I can figure out how to do it on my own). It’s a great experience! The other two staff at the booth are also super friendly and supportive. They gave me lots of confidence and made me feel safe all the time!

My wife and I are both avid kayakers and when we decided to go to the Charleston, SC area explored the options of doing some kayaking. We wanted to do an all day paddle in the Francis Marion National Forest and a saltwater paddle as well. Their staff was very helpful in planning and setting up our trips in advance. We had two great outings John our guide in the Francis Marion was super and Clark on Shem Creek was so much fun we hated to call it a day. I've worked with a lot of kayak and canoe outfitters and Nature Adventures is one of the best.

We absolutely loved it! You really get to see the wonderful natural world that surrounds such a great place that is Charleston, S.C. Taking a kayak through the gorgeous back bays and marshes of the South Carolina Low Country was the highlight of our recent vacation. We have made many trips to Charleston over the years, but really had not seen the sights that are usually hidden from us. Having a professional tour guide really made the trip so much more interesting and educational for kids and adults alike. Seeing and learning about the local wildlife and the plant-like made our short journey truly wonderful. We recommend this to anyone who loves nature and wants to see the vast wealth of birds, wildlife (gators too) and plants. We will be back to do this again soon. Thanks for a great adventure!

Great fun! Great guide! Felt safe! Would recommend for great family fun! Wish we could have spent more times with the Dolphins but that was the Dolphins decision. :)

My daughter took this tour and she had a blast!! She saw so much and was so excited she couldn't get it all out into words. She is 12 and I think this is a great age to explore nature.

While there are plenty of ways to spend your entertainment dollars in and around Charleston, you’ll want to make sure you plan to spend some of them seeing her from the water. Great for folks traveling alone, couples, families, and groups!

We did a 2 hour guided tour with Matt. He was great! Very informative and relaxed. We saw dolphins and even caught a glimpse of a sea turtle! Would definitely do again! We had beeb debating about doing a tour vs renting kayaks on our own. I would recommend the tour as Matt was able to give lots of local tidbits making the trip more interesting.

We had two great kayaking trips with them. The guides were knowledgeable and friendly. I highly recommend this for novices and experts alike. In the harbor we saw herons, egrets, commorants and dolphins. In the black water creek, we saw herons, turtles and alligators.

We had a great time on the tour with Ethan. He was full of information and it was a lot of fun. We didn't see any dolphins, but it was a beautiful day. This was my first time kayaking and would do it again. The crew was very helpful and it was much easier than I expected.
