Easy paddle (Not intense) to the Charleston harbor. Great views of Charleston and the bridge. The guide was knowledgeable about the local area. Check-in was easy. Since we were able to do this on an off day - Tuesday - non-tourist season (not a lot of people) parking was free (these are the spaces next to the street) . I would not want to come during the busy season since parking would be expensive and nonexistent.

This was a great tour. Everyone in our group had kayaked before so they did the prep work pretty quickly which I appreciated. They matched us with kayaks based on height and all of the kayaks were very nice! Matt was our tour guide and he was FANTASTIC!!!!!! He has a marine science degree so his knowledge of the creek and the wildlife was second to none. The kayaking was a full 2 hours and was a nice fairly leisurely pace. Highly recommend. Booking online was easy and efficient.

Matt was a great guide for a 3 hour tour of Shem Creek and the surrounding areas. Lots of patience with inexperienced kayakers and he was really knowledgeable about the areas we passed through. Definitely a fun time

This was one of the highlights of our vacation. We did the 3 hour tour. We saw most of the marine life creatures we hoped to see, plus more. Tillman was an amazing guide- full of facts on history, marine life and environment. He even knew the local dolphin pod, and their family dynamics. We highly recommend the tour and Tillman.

The 2-hour kayak tour with Shem Creek Nature Adventures was absolutely amazing! We were thrilled to see dolphins up close, which has been on my Charleston bucket list! The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and the kayaks were in excellent condition. The tour was well-paced with plenty of relaxing breaks, making the two hours feel easy and enjoyable. We had Ethan as a tour guide and he made the tour so educational and humorous! Highly recommend this tour for a perfect blend of adventure and relaxation. Five stars!

We enjoyed a fantastic guided tour with kids and adults new to the experience. We discovered new ways to bond as a family during the difficult COVID times by getting outdoors and enjoying nature! We can’t wait to come back!

Took my family out for a kayaking trip and we had an absolute blast. Shawn was amazing—friendly, knowledgeable, and super patient with everyone. The entire crew went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of and felt confident on the water. From the moment we arrived to the final paddle back, everything was smooth, fun, and memorable. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a top-tier family adventure!

Ed was our guide for the Shem Creek and Crab Island Tour. It was a great experience and impressive how Ed made all participants feel good about their trip and effort. Shem Creek is beautiful and Ed shared the ever changing life of the area, from small snails to pelicans. We also had a variety of effort required, starting with relatively still waters of the creek, returning into the wind and then heading out to the Charleston Harbor with the waves from wind and passing boats. I have been on several other kayak tours and this was one of the best! Also, Bob - on the experienced guides of the team was getting married that afternoon. Congratulations!

Our kayak paddle was on a beautiful creek about 35 minutes from downtown Charleston. It was breathtaking. Our guide was safe, knowledgeable, friendly and kind. We saw about 3 alligators sunbathing and amazing pristine forest/jungle type of foliage. I highly suggest this company.

Very convenient location and right next door to the Shem Creel Inn where we stayed. We are experienced kayakers and chose the two hour Shem Creek tour hoping a guide would be able to get us near wildlife (OK... Dolphins specifically.) While we did not see any dolphins, we enjoyed every minute of our tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable and took great care of our group. I only gave four stars for the guide pointed out that a shrimp boat was returning and that dolphins should follow it in. He didn't show any urgency in having us paddle in though and actually stopped us. I have to assume there was a reason for that but did deduct a star.

Even though I've kayaked before in a lake back in Illinois, I opted to do the guided tour for this, so worth it, Steve was awesome, teaching us about the history of the area, guiding us all around, awesome awesome experience, sadly today dolphins were in hiding still worth every minute!!!

Great experience! We did the self guided tour. This was the best part of our trip! We saw dolphins, tons of wildlife, went under the giant oak. So so beautiful. They gave us great direction on areas to go and made us comfortable. Highly recommend. Location was super easy as well.

Josh was a great! He’s Incredibly knowledgeable from both nature and historical lenses. I definitely recommend taking a tour with Josh if you’re interested in the history of the lowcountry and the ecosystem in the area.

We had an amazing time at a CSR with Nature Adventures. Loved our time helping the community and getting close with all the volunteers.

What a fun experience! We booked our outing a day in advance as the weather was looking quite chilly for our trip - it ended up being a BEAUTIFUL day on the water. Ethan was our tour guide and he was cheerful and shared a variety of fun facts with us. Don't hesitate to book a kayak trip with Nature Adventures on Shem Creek!

We had a nice time kayaking. If you’re just looking to get out on the water during your vacation this will do. The down sides of this kayaking trip was that it is pretty slow paced. You are stopped a lot or barely needing to paddle. We unfortunately did not see any dolphins. One thing I hope they improve on is the cleanliness of their lifejackets. You can smell the BO odor on them right away and the whole time you kayak. After the trip is done they have you place them in a bucket of water. It seems these have just been used MANY times and not dried/cleaned properly.

We thoroughly enjoyed our paddle with our knowledgeable guide, Charlie. We saw dolphins and went into the harbor as well as one of the narrow, grass lined waterways.

The trip got 1 hr delayed and we waited in the sun. We had to pay $4 just to apply sunscreen and they didn't even offer a discount even though the trip was 1 hour late. One of the two guide was very friendly and informing, but the other talked for such a long time about irrelevant things.

Great outfit - we booked online on pretty short notice and everything worked out nicely. Lynn (sp?) was awesome, helpful and gave great advice. We thoroughly enjoyed our day tooling around the Shem Creek area.

We went on a Blackwater creek tour with guide Teresa today. She was fabulous! Incredibly knowledgeable about the creek. We learned so much, saw owls, great Cypress trees, small alligators. None of us had ever kayaked before, and she was a terrific teacher as to how to handle the equipment. Our eight and ten year old enjoyed it immensely. We all wished we would have booked for a longer trip, and would highly recommend Teresa as a guide. The whole company from start to finish were great to deal with. Thanks for the memory!

The crew at Nature Adventures is outstanding! Personable, genuinely kind and very knowledgeable about Charleston and it’s surrounding waterways. Throw in a more than reasonable”e price tag and you’ve got the best deal for water-based adventures in the area. Check ‘me out...and that’s from a local;)
