This was a very easy trip. We had Charlie as our guide and he was very informative about the birds and surrounding vegetation/eco environments. He did a great job keeping us entertained. We got to see dolphins right next to our kayak. If you are looking for a lot of exercise and to cover a lot of area, this is not your trip. However, if you are looking for a relaxing kayaking trip, this is it!

Went Kayaking down the Shem today and it was a lot of fun! Dan was our guide and was very knowledgeable! highly recommend!

This was an amazing vacation... I was uncertain as to what to expect considering I was not familiar with the company or knew anyone going on this trip (signed up online & I live 800+ miles away). The communication via emails prior to the trip where very well informing & eased any concerns. The professionalism, friendliness & well planned daily events were great. Everyday was filled with beautiful sites & experiences of Costa Rica.... The history of the culture, land, animals and ecotourism (which I highly value) provided so much knowledge & beauty to the experience. I loved seeing & experiencing nightly stays not only the "nicer resorts" but also the smaller family-run resorts that provided us with a glimpse of culture of the Costa Rican... the music, food & friendliness. Days were spent hiking on the old lava flow beds of an inactive volcano, enjoying the natural hot springs, “safari” rafting trip down the Penas Blancas river & meeting a local rural farmer who is an amazing 102 years old, zip-lining, kayaking and snorkeling the Pacific ocean, a local naturalist guided tour of Manuel Antonio National Park, a day spent at La Paz Waterfall and Wildlife Gardens, afternoons spent walking a gorgeous beach, visiting dozens of shops and restaurants, and open-air souvenir markets in various small towns & villages that we stayed at. Even when there was medical attention required by occasional participants the organizers were quick to seek out immediate response & facilitating the appropriate medical care needed. I thoroughly enjoyed the tour, the group & all the hard work that staff at Nature Adventures Outfitters (Nature Adventures Kayak & Canoe) provided to make this a 7 day vacation that I will never forget & am looking forward to attending another tour that they plan for in July - but will have to wait until 2015!!!!!!!

Our family of four had a wonderful time on the two hour tour. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable - our 7 and 9 year olds really enjoyed it - especially when the dolphins came right by our kayaks.

Joshua was our guide for the Shem Creek Kayak experience and he was awesome. a shared historical info and great nature information as well and threw in some comedic moments! Slower paced but really enjoyable, highly recommend!

Bryson was an excellent guide and took us an enjoyable paddle on Shem Creek. We saw several groups of dolphins swimming right beside us. We paddled out to the bird sanctuary and saw many brown pelicans and several newborns. Bryson gave us an excellent overview of the Charleston skyline and the history of its forts. It was a really nice way to spend a morning.

We had a great trip on the water for a 2 hour guided tour. Matt was our guide and he was very knowledgeable and friendly. We saw lots of wildlife, including dolphins swimming around kayaks! The equipment was clean and in good condition. The entire staff was friendly and easy to work with. I highly recommend for couples or families. Kids would love this activity!

A great day playing “tourist in our own town” kayaking on Shem Creek and the Charleston Harbor. Matt (our guide) was very knowledgeable on the area which made it even more enjoyable

The crew at NA was super helpful and made our experience really good. The intro to kayaking was quick and informative. We did double kayaks and are fairly fit people. We paid for 3 hours but probably only needed 2 hours. We saw dolphins several times and had a great time! We highly recommend the kayaks for a good time.

Had a group of 10 who were all interested in doing a morning kayak on a Saturday. I was a little late at the planning of this so the online tours were already full. I called the office and they were extremely accommodating by creating an earlier kayak outing just for our group! We met up with Matt who took us out on Shem Creek. He was highly informative about the marsh, marine life and birds. We learned about how the tide being high or low can affect so many things including hurricanes. This was the perfect way to start our Saturday! Thanks Matt for a wonderful and informative tour on the Creek.

We had an amazing time on the water. It was very informative. Our guide was great. This was our first time on a kayak and we loved it. Thank you Nature Adventures ! We will see you again soon.

My family and I had a wonderful time on our tour. Our guide was able to tell us so much about the marsh and its inhabitants. I would definitely go again if I am every in the area again!

I had a really great experience with this company. I loved the history and the views of the city. I paddle a lot in my off time so I wish the pace was a bit more, but I was also in a group with first time paddlers, so I fully understand. They answered a lot of questions I had about different kayaks and let me try a few different styles out which truly made my day!! I will definitely be back to do another tour someday!

We had the best time on this two hour tour of Shem Creek with family and friends. There were eight of us and the guides were so knowledgeable and helpful! I highly recommend this group for kayaking and paddle boards.

This was my first time to kayak. Rob, our guide was descriptive and covered all the need to knows before kayaking. He was very patient and encouraging with my kayaking. The group I was with was also super nice and did not mind my boat hugs. Rob was very knowledgeable about the environment, it’s wildlife, boating and kayaking skills. Very impressive. He divided his time equally to engage all guests in diverse conversations. No one was left out, even the younger kids. By the end of the tour I was confident in my new found skills. My wife and I choose the Shem Creek Sunset Kayaking tour. It was amazing. The whole time down the creek the sun is setting as you are gliding along. We booked our tour in mid June and the temperature was perfect. The equipment is top of the line and our tour guide was very professional. I would recommend this tour. And will probably do it again when we travel back to the Charleston area.

We went kayaking with them this morning. Our guide Elizabeth was very personable and shared a lot of good knowledge about the creeks history. We were in a group of 7 which made me feel a lot more comfortable since I've never been kayaking. Overall we had a great time!

Spent a week in Charleston and every time it rained it was at night and wouldn't you know it, 5 minutes after we get there it rains. Jim did try to get us out twice but it just wouldn't stop raining and lightning. He wanted to reschedule but we had to leave but the kids still had fun. Definitely will stop there in the future when we visit Charleston again.

We took a group of 20 active seniors kayaking on Penny Creek. It was one of our best events ever. Kayaking with a group of friends with experienced guides, well informed, patient with those of us who aren't kayak experts -- so a good day was had by all. Would recommend anyone thinking about kayaking to check with Nature Adventures. Great job!

Ben and his crew took such amazing care of us and our group of 30+ in our business on our kayaking tour! We had many first-time kayakers and even some non-swimmers who felt safe with the guides' instruction and assurance. They even included some team-building games for us! We will definitely be using them again!

We loved our kayaking adventure during our trip to Charleston! Lots of options for beginners and a little more advanced kayakers, the highlight of the whole afternoon was seeing the dolphin swimming around us before we finished for the day! Would definitely visit again during a future trip!
