This is always the highlight of my trip to Isle of Palms and the Mount Pleasant area. Shem Creek is beautiful and the kayak tour is spectacular. Our guide, Josh, was very knowledgeable of the wildlife and history of the area and made the experience very enjoyable.

We had a great kayaking experiencing with Graham! It was a nice balance of paddling and resting to learn about the history and ecosystems of the Charleston Harbor. Two hours seemed like the perfect amount of time for us!

My son, my husband, and I decided last minute to go on a kayak tour the Wednesday after Labor Day. I called this company at 8:30am asking if we could go on the 10am tour. I guess they didn't have any other inquiries for that day and time, so they didn't have a guide lined up. Within the hour, they found a guide for us. We were fortunate enough to have a great guide (Clark) all to ourselves. He was so very knowledgeable and patient with us [relatively] novice kayakers. He knew so much about the area and its wildlife and educated us in a fun and interesting way. And then - the piece de resistance - when we were headed back at the end of our tour, three shrimp boats were coming in as well and following them were several dolphin! We got to see them up close - almost within arms length! It was amazing. Clark (our guide) said it best when he said that "the best way to explore the creek/marsh is on a kayak". You can get to places boats can't get to and you can get so much closer to the wildlife! Pelicans floated right next to us! We were never rushed or made to feel like we were on some scripted tour. It was definitely one of the highlights of our trip and I'm thankful we chose to do it with Nature Adventures! Would recommend this company and any of their tours to anyone!

Great views and knowledgable tour guide. Despite the shrimp boats not running right now, the dolphins were still out in the creek to visit us. We got to see a lot of birds native to the area and our tour guide was very knowledgable about the history of Charleston and the wildlife. He shared some interesting stories and we were able to kayak in the creek, the channel, and another waterway all in the two hour time. They prepare you well. The only note I would have for travelers is be mindful if you are hard of hearing. When the guide speaks to other members of the group or is facing away from you, you may lose a lot of what they say because of the open water.

The crew at Nature Adventures is outstanding! Personable, genuinely kind and very knowledgeable about Charleston and it’s surrounding waterways. Throw in a more than reasonable”e price tag and you’ve got the best deal for water-based adventures in the area. Check ‘me out...and that’s from a local;)

We had an amazing time on Shem Creek! Our tour guide, Charlie, was fantastic! He had a wonderful sense of humor, a great disposition, and really made the day special. He also shared so much interesting information about the area, which made the trip even more enjoyable. It was such a fun day with friends!

I did the evening tour with my wife and we both really enjoyed it. Our guide was a marine biologist so he was able to provide information about the surroundings and the wildlife throughout the trip. We paddled all through Shem Creek, along the commercial and residential areas. The ride was peaceful and fun and 2 hours was just the right amount of time. We saw lots of dolphins and wildlife, as well as beautiful scenery. Highly recommend this tour operator and the guided tour.

Had a group of 10 who were all interested in doing a morning kayak on a Saturday. I was a little late at the planning of this so the online tours were already full. I called the office and they were extremely accommodating by creating an earlier kayak outing just for our group! We met up with Matt who took us out on Shem Creek. He was highly informative about the marsh, marine life and birds. We learned about how the tide being high or low can affect so many things including hurricanes. This was the perfect way to start our Saturday! Thanks Matt for a wonderful and informative tour on the Creek.

A great kayak tour with Tori. She was great and taught us a lot about the history, ecosystem and wildlife. A great way to get out and enjoy nature in the area.

I had some out of town visitors and joined them on a kayak tour. We all loved every minute. Multiple dolphins swam by within two feet of our boats, and I saw birds I hadn’t seen in my 20 years in Charleston. The route made for easy paddling both in fairly open water and into the marsh. And Matt (our guide) was very knowledgeable and clearly enjoyed sharing. Highly recommend.

Charlie was such a wonderful tour guide! We had so much fun and got to hang out with Dolphins! Highly recommend booking a tour! The whole team is great and it was such a fun experience!

The kayak tour was absolutely fantastic! Our guide Ben took us on what we thought would be just a lovely kayak tour around the local waterways but we ended up getting so much more - Ben was a wonderful host explaining a wide range of interesting things about local life, the animals and nature we spotted during the beautiful tour (we even saw dolphins for a few seconds, a total surprise, unbelievable!) and for our teens the best part was the surprise behind-the-scenes tour of the Outerbanks tv show which was filmed right there in Charleston. During the tour we got to see a few set locations and hear a bunch of stories about how things were shot. Highly recommend this tour to anyone (including adults who have no idea what Outerbanks is ;)).

The tour guides are very friendly and so knowledgeable about the surrounding area and its ecosystem! They are also very diligent about safety procedure before you are in the water as well as after you are on the path! I highly recommend Nature Adventures if you are looking to do a fun and educational outside activity!

Ethan was a great tour guide today ... very patient, friendly knowledgable & passionate about his job and the ecosystem. We enjoyed learning about the specific plants & animals and some history of the area. We highly recommend a morning tour followed by lunch or dinner on the water while watching the pelicans and dolphins in the creek.

I bring Military groups here for paddle boarding and kayak tours. The staff is always so kind and energetic, always making my groups feel welcomed! The military groups always come back ecstatic to tell me they went back with their family to board/kayak when visiting. So relieved they are comfortable with this company while being here during their duty station in Charleston. Thank you, NAO!

We had a great time! Ethan was our guide and did a great job explaining about the local wildlife, bay, creek and marshes. When we saw some dolphins he had us stay in the area so we can watch them. I had 2 circling my kayak, it was awesome. We would definitely do this again next time we are in the area!

We had an amazing time at a CSR with Nature Adventures. Loved our time helping the community and getting close with all the volunteers.

We had two great kayaking trips with them. The guides were knowledgeable and friendly. I highly recommend this for novices and experts alike. In the harbor we saw herons, egrets, commorants and dolphins. In the black water creek, we saw herons, turtles and alligators.

My group of 3 had an amazing time kayaking up Shem Creek with Dan, our guide. His knowledge of the biology of the area combined with his genuine passion for it made it a spectacular day out. As novice kayakers, the pace was nice and slow and the 2 hour tour flew by. I would highly recommend this place, and perhaps you'll see Michael, the resident dolphin in Shem Creek!

Ed is great! Truly an intellect and loves the area. Seeing the megalodon fossils and the tiny mantatee snouts were some of my favorite sights! My husband and I went for his birthday and used the tandem kayak. They also rent paddle boats and single kayaks. Reasonably priced for two hours of fun. Would go again!

The Guides are knowledgeable and passionate about what they do. So much information about local wildlife and the ecosystem. They are provided some great tips on other places on Shem Creek to check out when I added a 4 hour rental at a the end of their 2 hour tour. Sticking around was worth it... Got to see dolphins. I would highly recommend booking a tour with these guys.
