Ben was a great tour guide for our 2-hour kayak trip. We had a great, relaxing time kayaking along Shem Creek and learning everything from ecology and biology to history and interesting anecdotes about the area.

My wife and I took the kayak tour in the early morning. Neither of us had been on a kayak before, but our guide, Jim, had us feeling like pros in no time. The boat traffic was low that day and the water was very calm. Making the day a relaxing, yet fun, way to cap off our vacation. Jim is very knowledgeable about the biology and history of the area. A good trip for the young and old alike.

We decided to go kayaking on a guided tour. We had a a very small group of two couples and the guide. I would recommend going on a rainy day because you aren’t sweating while kayaking. We were able to go through some estuaries and the guide gave us some very interesting details.

What a great experience! It was a beautiful day on the water, and Elizabeth was an excellent guide. I had kayaked a couple of times before but didn’t really know the proper techniques. She taught our beginner group to paddle forward and backwards and turn in a circle in a way that was efficient. She was patient and knowledgeable and made us all feel comfortable on the water. I can’t wait to go back!

This was a perfect activity for our family. We went on the sunset kayaking tour. It was so much fun, peaceful, interesting and memorable! Tillman, our guide, could not have been any nicer and patient (as this was our first time to kayak)! Seeing the dolphins so close to our kayaks left us speechless!

Every trip with them is awesome! I have developed a true love of paddling with them. Elizabeth is awesome!

We had an amazing time at a CSR with Nature Adventures. Loved our time helping the community and getting close with all the volunteers.

I had no idea we would be paddling out to Crab Bank rookery in Charleston harbor. I felt like I was in a PBS nature show with literally hundreds of birds flying and landing around us. It was amazing. Who knew that baby pelicans were so adorable? On the way back to Shem Creek, we paddled alongside dolphins as they snacked next to a shrimp boat. Our guide was excellent, knowledgeable and patient. Can't wait to go back!

Our guide, Ethan, was awesome. He was safety conscious, professional, people oriented, and knowledgeable of the marsh area ecology. It was a rewarding experience and I highly recommend Nature Adventures.

We did a 2 hour guided tour with Matt. He was great! Very informative and relaxed. We saw dolphins and even caught a glimpse of a sea turtle! Would definitely do again! We had beeb debating about doing a tour vs renting kayaks on our own. I would recommend the tour as Matt was able to give lots of local tidbits making the trip more interesting.

They should really get a 10! Ben and Dana are great host! The tour was fun and full of great Low Country knowledge!! I highly recommend!!! Epic!!!

We kayaked with Teresa on the Wambaw 3 hour creek tour. Excellent trip and Teresa was a fabulous guide. She shared a lot of nature/animal information and she was very personable with the ability to chat easily with everyone. It started pouring rain half-way thru the trip and she was very calm and even sang a song to make us laugh and relax. I highly recommend her.

Never made it to the tour. I met up at the assigned time/location for my tour as per their website's instructions. Nobody showed. I tried calling their office, but nobody would answer their phone. I left a voicemail and repeatedly attempted to call, without success. Finally, after approximately 20 minutes, somebody answered. They told me that I should be at a different linkup location. Although I was at one of their regular meetup spots, they couldn't tell me how to get to the location they wanted me and said to try logging into their website to get instructions! The place they provided didn't pull up on GPS. They gave me my guide's phone number to have him talk me into the location, but he wouldn't answer. Finally, it was well past the scheduled start time, so we decided to call it a day. We spoke to the office again and explained everything. They said they wouldn't charge us for the event and we could reschedule. Then they charged us for the event. Terrible experience.

We kayaked Shem Creek with our two teenage children. Everyone said it was their favorite part of our vacation! Our kids are big Outerbanks fans, so being able to be in Shem Creek where the water scenes were filmed was fun, we even went past Geechies Seafood which was also part of the show, the kids loved that! The water was so calm, there was no sound other than the birds chirping. Our guide Clayton was so nice and we learned a lot about the ecosystem. It was such a peaceful and relaxing way to start our day!

We took our 12 year old niece on a 2 hour kayak tour and thoroughly enjoyed it. Our guide Craig was very engaging and taught us more about the marsh environment than we could imagine (we knew 10 minutes into the trip that he had to be a high school teacher). The trip is suitable for most ages and the paddling was easy to moderate. Shem Creek can get very crowded by midday, so book an early trip to avoid the power boats.

Although it starts off in a busy place among restaurants and boats, it was very peaceful once we got into Shem Creek Park and paddled along the grasses and a few very nice houses. For a very hot summer day, our choice of the 6:30 pm guided tour worked out well. The closer to sunset the nicer it became. In the busy Shem Creek area along Shrimp Boat Lane we did see a few dolphins. Our guide was very nice and went out of her way to help those who had any trouble maneuvering their kayaks.

My husband and I signed up just a few days in advance while visiting Charleston mid October 2015. We have only kayaked a few times, but I really wanted to see the natural beauty of Charleston up close. We went on a 2 hour guided tour, and couldn't have asked for a better experience. Very glad that we made time to do this during our trip. There are lots of things to do in Charleston, for sure, but this activity was definitely one of my favorites. :)

We had a great time kayaking. Guided tour helped us see a lot of nature including dolphins. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable in the history and ecology of the area.

We had a great time paddling into the harbor and around Shem Creek. Our guide was knowledgeable about the marsh and the animals that call it home. We saw all kinds of native birds and fiddler crabs. With older kids/teens you could do this paddle without a guide. Great trip!

It was a very fun and memorable experience! The guides are very knowledgeable and informative. It was worth the view and adventure. Would definitely recommend this activity to a must Things-to-do in Charleston!

We came to charleston on a family trip from Atlanta and wanted to take our two children to visit the water for the first time. We found nature adventures as a place to rent kayaks and even better, go on a tour. Bryson was the most wonderful tour guide and such a hit with the kids! He took us on a two hour tour down in the creeks, seeing lots of dolphins along the way, learning all the history and having plenty of laughs. He was incredibly attentive, friendly and personable and such a pleasure to have as our guide. He gave us some other great recommendations for things to do on our visit so thank you for all your help! Our children cannot wait for their next kayak adventure!!

My friend and I loved our kayaking tour with Charlie! We learned some information about Shem Creek and saw some amazing wildlife as well.
