Went out on the 1000 tour just myself and wife. Tour guide was excellent on local birds and marine life. On a august morning, definitly need to bring water. Equipment and pfd's in good shape well maintained. Staff friendly and very helpful. Definitly a repeat on our next visit here. Recommend to others.

My husband and I did the guided tour at sunset of Shem Creek. Jay, our guide, was full of fun facts and knowledge of the local wildlife, plus he was interesting to talk to! The tour was 2 hours long, in my opinion the perfect length to explore the area. We saw a large group of dolphins swim right by our tour and so many different types of birds. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to explore in the Charleston area! Great value for the money.

Great experience and you’ve got a repeat customer for life. Love the personalization of tour based on your group needs. Very accommodating and entertaining for our young kayakers. We scheduled a sunset kayak trip for our second visit to Charleston and it was amazing!!

I was on a road trip with my best friend of 40+ years and decided to go kayaking together. We were led by our guide extraordinaire and marine biologist Matt - who was extremely knowledgeable of all the animals/flora & fauna! We learned so much on this trip and was enriched with so many fun facts! Highly recommended! Thank you Matt!!!

We went on a Blackwater creek tour with guide Teresa today. She was fabulous! Incredibly knowledgeable about the creek. We learned so much, saw owls, great Cypress trees, small alligators. None of us had ever kayaked before, and she was a terrific teacher as to how to handle the equipment. Our eight and ten year old enjoyed it immensely. We all wished we would have booked for a longer trip, and would highly recommend Teresa as a guide. The whole company from start to finish were great to deal with. Thanks for the memory!

Ethan was a great tour guide today ... very patient, friendly knowledgable & passionate about his job and the ecosystem. We enjoyed learning about the specific plants & animals and some history of the area. We highly recommend a morning tour followed by lunch or dinner on the water while watching the pelicans and dolphins in the creek.

We were hesitant to go due to bad storms the previous night. We were assured that the morning kayak trip would be smooth and they were right. They've been doing this for many years. We trusted their expertise and had a great time!

We went with our two teen girls. We decided to stick them in a kayak together. We did not have a guided tour, it was just us in double kayak's heading out. We were given a map though. We had a great time and went up and down the water way almost to the ocean. We saw lots of birds and a couple turtles, but not much else. My one daughter hated every minute of it, and the other one didn't complain at all. But in looking at them they didn't work together very well. We'd probably switch up to have an adult in each boat next time, but it's doubtful we could get her to do it again! The pricing is reasonable, the equipment was great and the waterway was very serene. Definitely worth doing and hopefully your kids will like it more than mine!

A great day playing “tourist in our own town” kayaking on Shem Creek and the Charleston Harbor. Matt (our guide) was very knowledgeable on the area which made it even more enjoyable

The Guides are knowledgeable and passionate about what they do. So much information about local wildlife and the ecosystem. They are provided some great tips on other places on Shem Creek to check out when I added a 4 hour rental at a the end of their 2 hour tour. Sticking around was worth it... Got to see dolphins. I would highly recommend booking a tour with these guys.

We decided to go kayaking on a guided tour. We had a a very small group of two couples and the guide. I would recommend going on a rainy day because you aren’t sweating while kayaking. We were able to go through some estuaries and the guide gave us some very interesting details.

Ben our kayak tour guide was both hilarious and clearly knowledgeable in local habitat and Charleston history. There was never a dull moment on our trip! We can’t wait to go back!!

I had such a good time on my first kayaking trip that I booked another the week after! The first one with Charlie & the 2nd with Matt. Both guides were incredibly friendly, knowledgeable of history, marine life and had us feeling safe in the water. I can't wait to come back! Plus we saw SO MANY DOLPHINS!!! Thank you so much!

We enjoyed our time with Nature’s Adventures on Shem Creek. We took a Kayak Tour with Joshua. He was amazing! His knowledge of Charleston, Shem Creek and the surrounding area was a plus. We really wanted to see dolphins and he delivered.

We had the absolute best time during our tour. It was one of the many activities my husband and I did on our honeymoon and one of our absolute favorites. Our tour guide was amazing and every staff member we came in contact with was very friendly and made sure we were 100% comfortable. It was my first time kayaking and their instruction was very helpful and informative. Our guide was very fun, friendly, and informative. Encouraged questions and conversation. We absolutely recommend. It was amazing!

This shop is tiny but has a large number of top quality kayaks right on the water's edge and the price is the best I found. The location is ideal for a paddle and then a lunch at one of the many nearby restaurants. While we did not take a guided tour, the guides were nonetheless helpful in telling us which locations would be good to visit and where you would most likely find wildlife. I would highly recommend Nature Adventure Outfitters for your kayaking experience!

We went on a 2 hour kayak tour. If you must stick to a tight schedule, this isn't your best option, we didn't set out until almost 45mins after the indicated start time, BUT when we did it was great. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and enthusiastic for what she was doing. We saw dolphins, manatees, so many birds. Definitely the highlight of my trip to Charleston!

Our tour guide Kathy was excellent! She was friendly and knowledgeable and accommodating. Some in our group wanted to be in kayaks sitting on top and others inside. She pulled out kayaks to accommodate each of us. We had three couples in our group in the 8:00AM tour. The water was very calm and it wasn’t too hot yet. Great time to go! Kathy gave some basic instructions- this is a gentle, easy kayaking excursion and beginners would have no trouble. We saw several dolphins and many pelicans. We also saw a few great white cranes and an osprey nest with a juvenile in it. Kathy was very knowledgeable about the wildlife and pointed out many along the way and told stories and interesting facts.

We took the sunrise tour and it was beautiful. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the area and the sea life and birds. He did move a little fast for a beginner but overall a amazing experience.

We had a group of 9 people go on a paddle of Shem Creek. Most of the people were new to kayaking and they spent as much time as necessary. The tour guide was wonderful and gave us plenty of history along with pointing out various shore birds, etc. Highly recommend this company.

What a fabulous weekend! Nature Adventures Outfitters provided our group with a weekend full of fun, adventures and food. Camp sites and bunks, bathrooms with showers and a dining hall were available to us. We went hiking, kayaking, paddle boarding, fishing and more. Their very knowledgeable staff taught us outdoor survival skills, knot tying, bird identification and fire starting techniques. I would highly recommend!

We went and did the Hampton Plantation Paddle in June. It was a nice hot day when we went and there was not much shade. I anticipated that there would be much more shade on the river. Overall all of the participants were nice. The kayaks we rented were ok. I actually prefer a shorter kayak but these are used for the ocean as well. Elizabeth was our guide and she was extremely nice and informative. She knew a lot about the different bird and plant species, Overall a nice day on the water.
