We had a great tour exploring Shem Creek and the harbor. Our guide Andrew was excellent and very knowledgable, particularly about the local birds. We saw dolphins on multiple occasions, found shark teeth, and learned about the harbor's ecosystem! All in all, a great experience--would definitely recommend it!

Very flexible with our schedule given the unpredictability of the low country weather. A tropical storm came onshore early in the morning and left great weather in its wake as it pushed inland and away. Our guide was very knowledgeable; the scenery around here is always special and overall we were very satisfied and would definitely come kayak again with Nature Adventures.

My friend and I recently enjoyed a kayak trip with Matt Gamble of Nature Adventures. We had traveled to Charleston to mostly dive deep into historic preservation but we also wanted to have a sense of the area -- and what could be better than a nature tour? My friend had never been in a kayak before so there was some trepidation but the trip could not have gone more smoothly. We slip through the mangrove swamps which were astonishingly and hauntingly serene and beautiful. Matt was knowledgeable about local flora and fauna and game when we came up to natural obstacles, such as a log impending flow. But the best part of the day was to surprise a river otter and her adolescent off spring, who was so curious about these strange beings that one swam all the way to my kayak and disappeared (with a slap and a slither) under the boat. A great experience with a professional staff and good equipment. Our tour was only for two hours but I would have happily spent a much longer time and enjoyed more of the area.

Josh was a great guide full of history and bird information. He was very attentive to our rowing abilities and short comings! Thank you Josh!

A friend and I opted for a Thanksgiving three hour swamp kayak with John- our guide from Nature Adventures Outfitters- versus the more traditional approach to the day. What an amazing experience- the Wambaw Creek wilderness is a swamp- beautiful, vast, still, full of life. John was an expert guide providing all types of information on the delicate ecosystem that exists in the swamp...anyone will enjoy this experience. We were the only ones paddling along this creek. Birds and other wildlife were visible throughout the entire trip.

Easy paddle, novices should have no problems. Guide was personable and informative. Thanks for a nice trip.

I was unsure about going out because the weather was on the cool side and it was a little windy. Ben was my guide, and he took me to sheltered spots out of the wind. It turned out to be a fabulous, gorgeous morning. Ben is so knowledgeable about the area and ecosystem we were paddling through. We saw small fish, a dolphin, egrets, herons, and pelicans. Outstanding experience that I would repeat anytime!

We had a group of 5 do the Shem Creek kayak tour at 2pm. Our tour guide, Kathy, was very knowledgeable about all of the wildlife and even had fun little facts about Charleston. She was super nice and really seemed to enjoy giving the tour. We saw dolphins, crabs and plenty of birds. Some in our group felt that 2 hours was a little too long just because of the blazing sun at 2 in the afternoon. Overall super great experience and definitely would recommend adding this to your to do list while in Charleston.

The staff was amazing, and Charlie was a great and knowledgeable guide. This was my first time kayaking, and they made it easy! Amazing scenery, easy check-in process, and everyone was amazing. I highly recommend!

We enjoyed a fantastic guided tour with kids and adults new to the experience. We discovered new ways to bond as a family during the difficult COVID times by getting outdoors and enjoying nature! We can’t wait to come back!

Great tour guide! Good weather. Lots of activity on the water but we still felt safe. Only downside was that we didn't see any dolphins.

Ben our kayak tour guide was both hilarious and clearly knowledgeable in local habitat and Charleston history. There was never a dull moment on our trip! We can’t wait to go back!!

I took the two hour Shem Creek tour, and I really enjoyed it! I live in CHS, but most people who took the tour were tourists. I would still highly recommend it to anyone that lives in CHS because you might as well take advantage of the beautiful scenery we have here. The guide is super knowledgable and happy to answer any of your questions. We saw a lot of really cool birds, dragonflies, and other beautiful nature around the creek.

Charlie our guide was great.. shared history of the area and was very personable. The views were beyond beautiful and I am so glad we booked this tour. Thank you to everyone who makes this happen for all of us!

We had a late afternoon trip with a guide named Ethan who was really patient and knowledgeable and really enhanced the trip for us with information about the marsh and all the wildlife, this was clearly a good time to visit because it was very peaceful. We all really enjoyed this experience

Ed was our guide for the Shem Creek and Crab Island Tour. It was a great experience and impressive how Ed made all participants feel good about their trip and effort. Shem Creek is beautiful and Ed shared the ever changing life of the area, from small snails to pelicans. We also had a variety of effort required, starting with relatively still waters of the creek, returning into the wind and then heading out to the Charleston Harbor with the waves from wind and passing boats. I have been on several other kayak tours and this was one of the best! Also, Bob - on the experienced guides of the team was getting married that afternoon. Congratulations!

We had a lovely time on the Picnic and Paddle trip with our guide, Matt. He was very knowledgeable of not only the Charleston area and marine life, but also the area history, the ecosystem, paddling, and college football!

Ed is great! Truly an intellect and loves the area. Seeing the megalodon fossils and the tiny mantatee snouts were some of my favorite sights! My husband and I went for his birthday and used the tandem kayak. They also rent paddle boats and single kayaks. Reasonably priced for two hours of fun. Would go again!

Staff were great! Only drawback was the tour didn't happen because not enough people signed up and tour guide wasn't there. So, book early if you can. Saw lots of dolphin and pelicans near the shrimp boats. It was perfect timing. Location is great! Can walk through Shem Creek and lots of great restaurants/bars along the water where you can also boat/dolphin watch.
